Following the success of Booom, Playroom expanded its AI-powered gaming experiments with Fax, a social game where players had to separate genuine facts from convincing AI-generated lies. The project explored how emerging generative AI technologies could create entirely new forms of interactive entertainment.
The Grayhatter behind Fax owned the complete AI experience end-to-end, developing the AI backend, integrating one of the earliest ElevenLabs-powered voice generation pipelines in gaming, and building the frontend systems that brought the AI personalities and interactions to life.
By combining AI-generated voices, content generation, and real-time multiplayer experiences, Fax demonstrated how cutting-edge AI could move beyond productivity tools and become a foundation for playful, engaging consumer experiences.
