Only Sports was a social platform built around the emerging NIL movement, allowing college athletes to connect directly with their fans, showcase their journeys, and generate income through their content. The platform combined social experiences, creator monetization, and athlete discovery into a new digital ecosystem for student sports.
Working as part of Antematter’s engineering team, our Grayhatter contributed to the development of the web platform within a highly distributed microservices architecture spanning multiple services and technologies. Navigating a complex legacy codebase, they took ownership of challenging frontend initiatives, untangled technical bottlenecks, and consistently helped the team move forward during critical development phases.
Beyond implementation, the engagement demanded deep system-level understanding, cross-service collaboration, and the ability to work effectively across a large engineering surface area. It became a defining experience in handling enterprise-scale architectures, complex integrations, and the realities of developing products built on distributed systems.
