Before AI gaming became a category, we made Booom.ai, turning generative AI into the game itself. Players could enter any topic and instantly generate a multiplayer trivia experience, creating effectively unlimited gameplay powered by GPT 2. The concept was so novel at the time that it stood among the earliest examples of AI being used as a core game mechanic rather than a supporting feature. We helped shape the experience through a distinctive neobrutalist design language, polished multiplayer flows, and rapid iteration that helped the game reach more than 50,000 players across the globe within its first months.
The platform later expanded through a partnership with MiniParty (formerly Bunch), bringing AI-powered social gameplay to a wider multiplayer audience.
As the product matured, it evolved beyond generated quizzes into a full creator platform, allowing users to build and share their own custom trivia experiences through an AI-powered canvas.
What began as an experiment in GPT-powered entertainment became an early proof that AI could create entirely new forms of interactive play years before the broader industry caught up.
